Okay, breathe! The market is hot and you are running on empty. But don't complain. Enjoy a return to the market of a healthier economy.
Our web site, HCAR.ORG, is up and running. I am hoping you will take advantage of the technology we have for you. You will be able to obtain membership, sign up for classes and special events, and learn about upcoming events on this site. Please become familiar with this site as we develop it to become an interactive part of our Association. This is the wave of the future and we are taking the lead on this. Please email me at ilenek@erols.com with your thoughts on the site and any suggestions you may have for us.
Barb Seely, Blaine Milner and I just finished with meetings in Washington, D.C. with the National Association of REALTORS®. We brought back many exciting ideas. These meetings are free, and available to all members. The trade show is always on the cutting edge of technology. The midyear meeting is always in Washington and is the only meeting that is free. The culmination of these meetings was a visit to Capitol Hill where we met with Rep. Ben Cardin and we discussed new capital gains legislation, depreciation on commercial properties, and numerous FHA matters as they specifically apply to Howard County.
It is time again to ask for volunteers who are interested in serving as a director of the HCAR Board. We are looking for a diverse group of volunteers with all kinds of volunteer backgrounds. Please indicate your interest by completing the attached Candidate Submission Form. And speaking of volunteers, the Maryland Association of REALTORS® is sending out applications for membership on MAR committees. This is a wonderful way to network with Realtors throughout the state. If you are interested in being on one of these committees and have never served, please let me know by the end of June.
Please keep the following dates in mind:
Maryland Association of REALTORS® Convention in Ocean City, MD
September 13-15
National Association of REALTORS® Convention in Orlando, FL
November 12-15
