VERY IMPORTANT!! If you are sending any correspondence, checks, or registrations for classes, please remember to send all such matters to HCAR at 8757 Georgia Avenue, Suite 600, Silver Spring, MD 20910-3737.
Happy Spring!! It seems that the Spring market is upon us and everyone that I have spoken with is busy, excited and a bit frustrated.
It is time to renew your keypad if you are a participant in MARS. Another option for you to consider: you can purchase a keypad through GCAAR instead of leasing through MARS. You will then own your keypad and there will be no yearly fee. Please contact Tonita Douglas at the Executive House at 410-290-5928 with any questions.
An update on the Broker/Supervision situation. At the public hearing on February 16th, the Real Estate Commission listened to our testimony and concerns about the pending legislation and as a result of our activity there they have agreed to meet with MAR's Mary Antoun and her staff to see if a compromise can be found that will satisfy all parties. This meeting is scheduled for later this month so please stay tuned for further details.

NAR Midyear Governance Meetings & Trade Expo will be held May 17-21, 2000 in Washington, DC. This is a great time for you to experience a national trade show and education. These meetings are right in our backyard and we should take advantage of that. I hope you will mark your calendars and join us in Washington.
The MAR Convention this year is September 11-13, 2000 at the convention center in Ocean City, MD. The theme is "Find Fortune in the Future". The convention committee has been working hard to make this year's event a truly spectacular time for everyone. Hope to see you there.
As always, I want to thank all of our affiliates and corporate sponsors for all you do for our Association. Please support our sponsors and thank them for working with our Association.
It is very important that we as Realtors call our State Representatives and Senators to oppose HB 283 - The Septic Legislation. This legislation could cost those owners of homes on septic systems up to $10,000 to comply with this legislation. It is up to us to do all that we can to stop this bill from passing.
