August 2000

Also available in Adobe Acrobat!

I can't believe this is August and summer is almost over. I hope you have all had a profitable summer. There are some important things happening and I want to bring them to your attention!

MRIS version 3.6 will be out in CD form to all members soon. However, you can go to the MRIS Intranet to download the newest version now. MRIS recently began offering FREE Internet Access to its customers at no additional charge. To sign up, visit the MRIS Intranet or mris.com.

Speaking of the Internet, hcar.org is getting more hits every month. You can visit us there to find our membership directory online. Very soon you will all be receiving a membership verification form. Please fill that out and return it because we are trying to update our member information, including current e-mail addresses, for the website as well as for our annual dues billing which will be mailed in September. Your association is working very hard to provide you up to date information by posting it on our web site. Plan to visit our site often.

HCAR is holding its first annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction on Wednesday, September 6, at Fairway Hills. We are looking for donations for the silent auction. If you are willing or know someone who would like to donate, please contact me at 410-730-5100. We'd like this to be a day of fun and frolic so plan to join us.

HCAR's Education Committee will hold a 1 ½ hour class on Fair Housing to be held on Thursday, August 17, at the Coldwell Banker Grempler office on Little Patuxent Parkway. Call today and reserve your spot. Fair Housing is a requirement for re-licensing, so take advantage of the opportunity.

Our Annual Installation Breakfast will be held this year on Friday, October 6, at the Ten Oaks Ballroom. We will be installing Blaine Milner of Re/Max Advantage as your next President as well as honoring our Realtor of the Year and Community Service winner. Please mark your calendar and join me in welcoming your new leadership for the 2001 membership year.

Put your name in BRICK...this is your opportunity to purchase a brick engraved with your name or that of any past REALTOR® or company for the pathway known as "REALTOR® WALK" which leads to the front door at the MAR office in Annapolis. A form is included for your use.

And don't forget to register for the 48th Annual MAR conference in Ocean City, MD, September 11-13. There are lots of great education seminars offering continuing education credits. I hope you will attend even if only for the one day admission.
