I hope you all had a successful Spring market. I would like to apprise you of some items that you should know about.
CreditSmart Training is Coming to Howard County
The directors of the Howard County Association of REALTORS® are pleased to bring this new credit awareness training program to our members. FreddieMac has developed this program in conjunction with the Historically Black Colleges and is partnering with REALTORS® in Maryland to launch this training in the general community. To learn more about this training, please go to www.freddiemac.com/creditsmart. The one-day training seminar is an intensive course and is free to HCAR members. A nominal fee of $10.00 will be charged for lunch. The training is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Long and Foster Community Room on Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.
Please Mind Your Code of Ethics
The association would like to remind all of our members that you need to be mindful of the NAR Code of Ethics as you do business in this crazy market. There have been several articles published in the local press recently and we caution you to be careful. If you have any questions or issues, please contact your broker/manager. Under the new Broker Supervision regulations from the Maryland Real Estate Commission, your broker is responsible for training and supervising all real estate agents in their brokerage.
Education Committee Presents Fair Housing Class
The HCAR Education Committee is offering a Fair Housing Class on June 20. Please visit the HCAR class schedule to register online.
Mark your Calendars for our Summer Fling Event
Due to popular demand, the HCAR Social Committee is organizing a Summer Fling to be held at La Palapa Grill and Cantina in Ellicott City on August 20. Plan to join us for some great Mexican food and Mariachi music!
HCAR Office is Open by Appointment Only
Now that the GCAAR key exchange has been completed and nearly all of our GCAAR keyholders have the new DisplayKey/E-Key, we are no longer open for walk-in service. You must make an appointment by calling Becky at 410-290-5928. If you are experiencing technical difficulties with your new key, you must call SUPRA technical support at the number printed on the back of your key. If you have the old Superkey from MARS, then you must call Mid Atlantic Realty Services at 410-840-8003 for assistance. Thank you for your cooperation!
It's Election Time Again
Not only is it an election year in our county and state, but also in our association! Thinking about serving as a director of HCAR? The Board will soon be setting up a committee to oversee the election process. Please let any of our directors know of your interest in running for a position on the board and we will make sure you get an application.
