The Spring Market is upon us! I hope that all of you are doing well at this very busy time of year. Spring Fling is coming on April 20 at Nottinghams... please sign up online. This is our biggest networking event of the year with over 300 Howard County agents attending.
This Wednesday, March 30, HCAR offers two hands-on training sessions devoted to MATRIX. REALTOR® Workstation will be turned off by MRIS the following week so plan to be trained on this new and powerful web-based software.
Our HCAR membership is up to 1350 members with new members continuing to sign up with us. We want to welcome the new members to our association. Their names are listed below.
The directors and officers of HCAR would like to thank all of our members who contributed to RPAC during the dues billing this past Fall. We were able to raise approximately $9,000.00, or 42% of our goal for the year.
HCAR has formed a task force to explore ways for the association to partner with Habitat for Humanity in Howard County. If you know any one who is willing to donate some land for this kind of project, please let your board of directors know. We are also looking at other types of affordable housing initiatives so please let us know your ideas!
We have received a number of complaints from the general public and from fellow REALTORS® about the lack of professional courtesy during this busy time of year. We are in a multiple contract environment so it is especially important to be considerate of others when offers are being accepted prior to deadlines that have been announced by listing agents.
Congratulations to our Howard County student, Ricardo Huerta (a 5th grader at the Fulton Elementary School and son of Susan Huerta, an agent at Long and Foster Real Estate Inc. in the Clarksville/River Hill office), who was selected as a winner in the annual MAR Fair Housing Calendar Poster Contest. Thanks to the Fair Housing/Diversity Committee for their efforts.
There is a new service from MAR-technology helpline—please call 888-784-5410 with your technology issue to see if they can help you.
And last but not least, NAR has delivered a check for $1.5 million to Tsunami relief fund on behalf of REALTORS® in the United States. Thanks to NAR for coordinating this fundraising effort.
