Fourth Favorite Place To Live In The US Columbia / Ellicott City, MD

In Money Magazine's recent release of its annual "Best Places to Live" list for 2006,
Columbia / Ellicott City was rated #4 in the top 10 of over 745 cities.

Money Magazine set out to find small livable cities that had the best possible blend of good jobs, low crime, quality schools, plenty of open space, reasonable home prices and lots of enjoyable events. The list is a reflection of the qualities that most Americans want when it comes to a place to live and raise a family. This contributes to their own and their family's prosperity and provides a quality of life that allows them to enjoy the fruits of their work.

Undertaking several months of research, Money's team of editors and writers reviewed data on a wide range of economic and quality-of-life indicators. Cities across the country were then visited, while residents, community leaders and local officials were interviewed.

Howard County residents should be proud to have the vibrancy of our home recognized and ranked as one of the top 10 great American towns.
