 
Hello. My name is Peter Morgan and I am the new Association Executive for the Howard County Association of REALTORS®. I am a native of Maryland and have deep roots in Howard County as well, having lived in Columbia for 23 years. I am the proud father of two sons, both of whom serve in the military, and one daughter heading off to college this fall. I have held management positions at the National Association of REALTORS® and with the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government.
Over a 22 year period I held a variety of positions with NAR. I was initially hired as the Director of Housing and Community Development and was a manager in the Government Relations Division. While at NAR, I developed good working relationships with the members. One of my responsibilities at NAR was staff executive to the Presidential Advisory Group (PAG) that created the Housing Opportunity Program. The PAG included REALTORS® from all over the country, and its recommendations are now part of a major program assisting REALTOR® efforts to promote affordable housing at the local level. I also know firsthand the effectiveness of REALTOR® grassroots, having managed NAR's grassroots operation during my tenure at NAR.
Also, over a 15 year period, I served as Chair of the Howard County Housing and Community Development Board and the Housing Commission, and interacted with local REALTORS® in both capacities.
Additional related experience includes being a Senior Associate with Chuck Banks Associates, where I provided economic and community development advice to clients. Prior to the consulting activity, I was the Deputy Administrator for Housing and Community Development at the U.S. Department of Agriculture where I played a role in the nationwide formulation and execution of agency policies. In addition, my experience includes being a Senior Legislative Specialist at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and working for the U.S. Senate as a professional staff member.
Although I also enjoyed working in government and consulting, my work with REALTORS® has been some of the most challenging and satisfying of my career. I look forward to working with the members of the Howard County Association of REALTORS® and being a strong advocate for your interests.
