RE-AL Talk & Preferred Partner Spotlight Article Submission

Submission Guide

Having trouble deciding on what or how to write your RE-AL Talk article? I have below some “Ques” formulated by our Preferred Partner Outreach Committee on possible ways to make sure your article passes muster.

What should I do to get Staff approval?

  1. Make sure that the audience for your article is our REALTOR® members, even if the information you are conveying is for their clients. Remember, it’s not likely the consumer will be reading these.

FOR EXAMPLE:  “When your client is choosing between these 2 loan products, these are the questions they should ask ”

“Why your client’s home should be staged, and how do you break it down to them?” With accompanying Staging guide for agents to distribute to clients

“What should your client know about the change in regulation on _______”

  1. Keep it preferably ~ 600-700 words. If you have more, remember, if you have a checklist you want to convey, or additional materials, you can make those into professional looking and branded .pdf graphics that can be linked TO the article instead and used by agents or their clients as resources.

Note: This length is the money spot for online articles and blogs. It helps with the algorithm when searching for topics. And if it’s too long, no one will read it.

  1. Keep the topic informational and not self-promotional, remember, your name, headshot, contact information and company name will be at the top of the article. That’s all the self-promotional, name-dropping information that should be in the article.
  2. Make sure you’re an actual expert on the subject matter you choose. Generalizations on broad topics that have no research or experience behind them are not something that HCAR will publish, and will likely be sent back to you with recommendations for changes. Keep it based on your profession or things you are passionate on and have experience with. And of course it should bring value to the reader.

FOR EXAMPLE: “This is the AI tool that is taking over and here are some ways you can use it in your business…..I’ve used AI myself to______... It integrates with_____……You may need some technical advice from ______….. You can watch video step by steps on how to set it up here_____.”

How should I write it?

Here are some ideas on how you can structure your article!

  1. Compare and Contrast: Give a comparison of 2 different ways to resolve an issue, compare products, services or tools. You can even make a graphic chart and attach it as a resource for agent’s clients.
  2. Pros and Cons: Opposite of comparing, you are taking 1 issue, product, service, tool, or subject and having a deep discussion on how to better understand it and it’s pros and cons when their clients are making a decision.
  3. Common Issues when _________and how to resolve or avoid them.
  4. Tips & Fun Facts on _________ to help in your business.
  5. Questions you should ask your _________.
  6. Checklists
  7. How to____________?
