COLUMBIA, MD, MARCH 19, 2021 - The Howard County Association of REALTORS® (HCAR) invites its members and the community to its 2021 Virtual State of the Real Estate Market event, featuring Dr. Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). The event will be held on Zoom on Thursday, April 8 from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Yun will make a presentation on national real estate trends and how they are affecting Howard County’s busy market. His report will be followed by a brief Q&A session, moderated by HCAR President Shirley Matlock and HCAR CEO Jessica Coates.
Dr. Yun oversees and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for NAR, including the association’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for NAR’s 1.4 million REALTOR® members.
Dr. Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Wall Street Journal Forecasting Survey. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. He also participates in the Industrial Economists Discussion Group at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. He has appeared as a guest on CSPAN’s Washington Journal.
Dr. Yun received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland College Park.
