This is a new position at HCAR that was created to strengthen the Association’s relationship with elected officials, with the community, and with the local media, as well as invest in HCAR’s continued efforts to be an inclusive association through its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.
Bailey comes to HCAR from the Maryland General Assembly, where he worked as Legislative Aide for Sen. Melony G. Griffith. Prior to taking that position, Bailey worked for four years as an Aide in Howard County’s District 2 Office, initially working for then-Councilman Calvin Ball before working for current Councilman Opel Jones. He is a board member for Preservation Howard County and a 2018 Graduate of the Inaugural National NAACP NextGen Leadership Class. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Salisbury University and is working towards a Master of Arts degree in Global Affairs and Human Security from the University of Baltimore.
“We are thrilled that Najee has joined our team,” said Sarah Rayne, HCAR’s Chief Executive Officer. “It is HCAR’s goal to be Howard County’s voice and leading advocate for homeownership, the real estate industry, and those issues that most affect the association’s members, while enhancing the REALTOR® image in the profession and within our community. Najee’s wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in Howard County, will allow us to build a solid advocacy program, with a strong focus on increasing homeownership for marginalized communities and building an organizational foundation of equity and inclusion.”
