Message to Members from the CEO:

HCAR depends on its committees to guide the association and fulfill the goals set forth in our Strategic Plan. Committee service is the most direct, effective way for our members to impact the future of our association and our industry. We deeply appreciate each and every member who raises their hand to volunteer at HCAR. We want committee work to be valuable and meaningful for our volunteers, so our committee appointment process has changed!

From now until September 30, all HCAR members in good standing are invited to apply for a 2023-2024 Committee Appointment. These appointments will be reviewed and approved by the 2023-2024 Board President and President-Elect. Terms begin on November 1, 2023 and end on October 31, 2024. Every appointed committee member will receive social media assets to announce their accomplishment, will be listed on HCAR’s website as a committee member, and will be recognized at the 2023 Installation & Awards Ceremony.

No Committee Appointments will be made throughout the year, unless determined by the board President.

Accepting a Committee Appointment is a commitment – all members must review and acknowledge the time commitment and duties of their committee. Per HCAR’s bylaws, a committee member who misses two meetings is removed from the committee roster. A hybrid option will be offered for all committee meetings, and it is strongly encouraged that you join with your camera on, so you may fully engage in the conversation.

Above all, a Committee Appointment is a commitment to the future of our association and our industry. We NEED you! Additionally, here’s what YOU can get out of committee work:

  • Leadership experience – A lifelong value.
  • Industry insight – Be in the know about environmental conditions at the local, state, and national levels that will affect the real estate industry.
  • Networking opportunities – Connect with leaders locally and across the state and country.
  • Client services – Better represent your clients by being knowledgeable about and involved in your industry.
  • Opportunities to give back and make a difference – Give back to your community and to your industry through committee service.
