HCAR appoints new Government, DEI & Public Affairs Director

Columbia, MD (September 23, 2024) – The Howard County Association of REALTORS® (HCAR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mecca Dickens as its new Government, DEI & Public Affairs Director.

In his new role, Dickens is responsible for the Association's policies and objectives involving local, state, and federal legislative affairs. He also oversees the Association's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts, as well as media relations.

Dickens graduated from Towson University in 2023 with a degree in Political Science, specializing in community development, public administration, government, and mass communications, among others.

Dickens brings over 10 years of experience in community organizing and a passion for serving others. He has held the role of Director of Community Outreach for the organization Beneficial Pain, as well as for the Towson University Student Government Association. He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
