HCAR appoints new Government Affairs Director

The Howard County Association of REALTORS® (HCAR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Louie Lujan as its new Government Affairs Director.

In his role, Lujan is responsible for the Association’s policies and objectives involving local, state, and federal legislative affairs. He serves as liaison for the Association between our elected officials and he tracks important news, legislation, and issues that affect the Association and its membership. He will serve as liaison and support for the Legislative Committee and the RPAC Committee, working closely with the CEO to ensure HCAR’s presence and influence in Howard County.

In 2021, Lujan founded Summit Government Affairs, which is a firm focused on strategies for effective engagement with elected officials and government. Prior to founding the firm, Lujan served as a mayor, as a Director of Government Affairs for a law firm, and as a Government Relations Director in the real estate industry. He now provides services to a number of additional REALTOR® associations, including the Sussex County Association of REALTORS® in Delaware. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education.
