All applicants should be members in good standing with HCAR. All elected Officers and Directors will be sworn in at the 2025 Installation & Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 29. All terms will officially begin on November 1. Please note that these are volunteer positions, and all applicants will need to participate in an interview with HCAR’s Nominating Committee. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 1.

 

 

The Secretary of the Board of Directors is responsible for documenting the proceedings of meetings of the Executive Committee and the Board. In coordination with the Association Executive, the Secretary must submit draft minutes to the Board for approval. The Secretary is an Officer of the Board and a member of the Executive Committee and the Budget & Finance Committee. The Secretary must be a REALTOR® member of HCAR in good standing. Unless otherwise determined by the Nominating Committee and the Board, the Secretary has previous experience as a Director of the Board and/or as an active member of an HCAR committee. The Secretary serves a one-year term, after which they ascend to the position of Treasurer, unless otherwise determined by the Nominating Committee and the Board. Directors are voting members of the Board and are thus responsible for reviewing the activities of the Association to make decisions and direct policy on various items and issues. Directors are HCAR members in good standing and may be either REALTORS® or Preferred Partners. Directors preferably have previous experience as an active member of an HCAR committee and are generally engaged and invested in the success of the Association. Directors serve a two-year term and may not serve more than two consecutive full terms. Unless otherwise determined by the Nominating Committee and the Board, members must first serve as a Director before advancing to an Officer position on the Executive Committee.
