What is Join in June?

Join in June is a limited-time opportunity to join HCAR with no local HCAR dues, no application fee, and member access pricing for our weeklong conference, HCAR Elevate 2026.

 Is this really free?

Your local HCAR dues and application fee are waived for eligible new members who join in June. However, state and national dues may still apply if you have not already paid them through another association.

Who qualifies for the June offer?

Eligible new primary members, primary transfers, secondary members, and new Preferred Partners may qualify.

What if I already paid state and national dues through another association?

You must provide a Letter of Good Standing from your primary association confirming you have paid your 2026 state and national dues. Once HCAR receives your letter, you will not need to pay those dues again through HCAR.

What happens after June?

You will remain an HCAR member with all benefits and privileges through the current membership cycle, which ends October 31, 2026. If you wish to renew with HCAR, you will need to pay 2027 dues by November 1, 2026.

What will my renewal bill look like for 2027?

Your next local dues renewal would be billed with the regular renewal cycle. You will receive your bill in September, and it will be due on November 1. This bill will reflect 2027 dues for HCAR, Maryland REALTORS®, and National Association of REALTORS®. 2027 dues have not been confirmed yet. We can share that 2026 dues were $288 for HCAR, $242 for Maryland, and $201 for NAR, for a total of $731.

Do I get access to HCAR Elevate 2026?

Yes. Eligible members who Join in June will receive member pricing ($25) to HCAR Elevate 2026.

Can I attend HCAR Elevate before joining?

Yes! Non-member pricing is only $35. There will not be a refund for the different once you Join in June.

I'm already a REALTOR® member somewhere else. Can I still join HCAR?

Yes. Depending on your situation, you may be able to join as a primary transfer or as a secondary member. If you are a primary transfer, your broker is required to be a member of HCAR before you may join. Ask your broker if they are a member of HCAR. This requirement is waived for secondary members.

What is secondary membership?

A secondary membership allows you to belong to HCAR while keeping your primary membership with another local REALTOR® association.

What is a Preferred Partner?

Preferred Partners are businesses and professionals who serve or support the real estate industry and want to connect with HCAR’s REALTOR® members. Preferred Partners are NOT required to pay state and national dues.

Why might I still owe dues when joining?

HCAR can waive local association dues and application fees for this promotion. However, required 2026 state and national REALTOR® dues cannot be waived for brand-new REALTOR® members who have not already paid them through another association. Both state and national dues are prorated in June, and total $257.

I'm already an HCAR member. Why are new members getting a "free" membership when existing members already paid dues?

We understand why some current members may ask this question, and we deeply value the members who continue to invest in HCAR year after year.

Join in June is a targeted membership growth initiative designed to strengthen the Association for the long term by introducing more REALTORS® to the value of HCAR membership. A stronger membership base helps increase our collective voice, expand networking opportunities, support stronger programs and events, and create additional resources that benefit all members.

It is also important to note that this promotion waives local HCAR dues only for a limited period of time. Many participants - especially brand-new agents - will still be required to pay state and national dues in order to join.

The complimentary membership runs from June through October only. Members who Join in June will need to pay HCAR dues just like everyone else on November 1.

Current members continue to receive the full value of their investment, including year-round access to education, advocacy, technology tools, networking opportunities, leadership development, community involvement, and member services that support their business success every day.
