Agents of Change Program

The Agents of Change Program is an HCAR designation that is to be given to those agents who go above and beyond to demonstrate their commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The program features two levels:

Level One "Ruby" - This is for anyone who has completed the three academic certifications:

The At Home with Diversity® (AHWD) certification course
NAR's Fairhaven fair housing simulation
NAR's Implicit Bias Training

Agent of Change - Ruby Level Application

Level Two "Diamond" - Those who have completed the Ruby Level as well as 60 hours of community volunteer hours (within 1 year).

*This is an in-house HCAR designation. It is used for recognition of HCAR members who go above and beyond only and is not affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS®.*

I've completed the requirements to become an Agent of Change, now what?

Once you complete each element of the Agent of Change program (at the Ruby Level or Diamond Level):

Make sure that you save all of your certificates.
Fill out the Agent of Change Application form and attach all supported documentation, then hit the "Submit" button.
If submitting a volunteer hours form, it should include:
- the number of hours you served, the dates, a description of the tasks you did successfully, and the contact details of the organizations and supervisors you volunteered for.

Once HCAR has verified that you’ve completed all required elements of the program, an HCAR staff member will email you to provide the “I’m an Agent of Change” certificate and badge to use in your email signature or other marketing initiatives showing your commitment to diversity and inclusion.

I am a Preferred Partner, can I still apply for the Agents of Change Program?

Of course! We want to encourage all of HCAR's members to become A.O.C Certified!

I want to become an Agent of Change at the Diamond Level, but not sure how to volunteer...

Consider volunteering locally
Volunteer with HCAR by joining a committee

Volunteering is an extremely rewarding experience no matter how and what you choose to do. Just be sure to record your hours and submit at least 60 hours of volunteer work completed within 1-year.

If you are submitting for the "Diamond Level", you will receive in addition to the certificate and badge, a special "Agent of Change" pin. HCAR Staff will advise you on how and when you're able to pick this up from the HCAR office.
